Dental bridges are a great solution for replacing missing teeth. This treatment uses your existing teeth to literally create a bridge to cross the area where tooth or teeth are missing. These bridges are cemented to your existing teeth surrounding the empty space. These teeth, called abutments, serve as anchors for the bridge. A replacement tooth, called a pontic, is attached to the crowns that cover the abutments. As with crowns, you have a choice of materials for bridges. Bridges can be made from gold, metal, alloys or porcelain.
